Artist Statement

I create stop motion animations with speculative fiction and surrealist literature as a starting point, which explore ecofeminist ideas through non-linear multiplicitous storytelling. I want my work to create space for dreaming, reflection, leaving room for the audience to fill. I create my animation sets with sheeps’ wool, making a soft, delicate world the troubled mind can curl up in. My latest video and installation is inspired by Leonora Carrington’s novel ‘The Hearing Trumpet’ and is called Dreaming of Woolen World.
